Hello TYBA friends and families.  Many of you may recall a “rally cry” for our board member Chris Powers more than a year ago. Chris is out of surgery and awake. And as we had hoped once the doctors got in there it would be an easy tumor resection as the first one it turns out this one was much more complex as there was several spots in hard to get to spaces, one particularly close to his optic nerve causing some possible blindness in his right eye. The surgeon doesn’t know how much he was able to get but he’s hoping about 10-20%. We will know more after the MRI tonight. He is still struggling with his speech and finding the words he is wanting but we are also hopeful that once the swelling goes down that may return. Doctor says it’s possible that we will be able to fly home Saturday or Sunday to be with our kids and surrounded by our family and friends. As one of our best friends text, ”God’s not done” and I truly believe that, Chris is a fighter. We are hopeful that we will find a treatment or medication that will help him continue to fight as he has so much more to do in this life.
